HOW TO MAKE SOUTH INDIAN ADAI DOSA

Adai is a protein and iron rich South Indian Breakfast you will get to eat many types of dosa in South India and similarly Adai dosa is a very famous dosa of Tamil Nadu. Which is eaten during breakfast.


It is a complete meal in itself, so you can have it for dinner as well. Adai Dosa is a multigrain dosa as it is made up of different types of pulses and rice which is a very healthy snack. You can pack this protein-rich dosa in your kids lunch box too.


Ingredients For Adai Dosa Recipe


  • Chana Dal = 1/4 Cup
  • Washed Urad Dal = 1/4 Cup
  • Moong Dal = 1/8 cup
  • Toor Dal = 1/8 cup
  • Rice = 1 Cup
  • Whole Red Chili = 6 to 8
  • Jeera = 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida = tsp
  • Curry Leaves = 7 to 8
  • Salt = As per taste
  • Oil = As required

Method - How To Make Adai Dosa


To make Adai Dosa, first clean all the pulses and rice. Then put gram dal, moong dal, urad dal and toor dal in a big bowl and add rice to it.


Now wash them with water two to three times. Then add whole red chilies to it and add enough water to soak them. As much as your lentils get soaked for 3 hours and the pulses should also be ground in this water. (We will pour water from it to grind lentils, we will not throw water)


Now keep this bowl to soak for 3 hours. So that the rice and lentils get soaked well.


After 3 hours, put all these in a mixer jar and add water to it. Then add cumin and curry leaves and grind it to make a very smooth batter.


Then transfer this batter in a big bowl. If you feel the batter is thick, then add a little water to it and mix it.


Now add asafoetida and salt to the batter and mix it well. Then put some oil in a non-stick pan and wipe the oil with a cotton cloth.


Then let the pan heat up on medium heat. After the tawa is hot, fill the batter with a spoon and put it in the center of the pan and spread it in a thin round with this spoon.
