  • Rui or Catla fish 6-7 medium sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup onion paste
  • 2 tablespoons ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons cumin paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried chilli paste
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 whole dried chillies
  • 1/4 teaspoon whole cumin
  • 2/2 cup mustard oil
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot spice powder


Method


Step 1


First of all, the fish should be fried well by applying salt and turmeric.


Step 2


Heat mustard oil in a pan and add bay leaves, dry chilies and whole cumin and onion paste.


Step 3


When the raw smell of onion butter goes away, add ginger paste, then chili paste, cumin paste and turmeric powder one by one. Then tomato paste and salt.


Step 4


Drain the spices well and add 1/2 teaspoon sugar and 3-4 cups water. Then when the broth boils, you need to wait for some time for the broth to thicken.
